Exhibition in Milwaukee

In July I will be showing my artwork with two old friends I went to school with at UWM over thirty years ago. The exhibition of works on paper will be at Anchor Press Studios in the House of RAD in Milwaukee. Greg Martens has organized the exhibition and we have known each other since high school. We were both at UWM in the early eighties too. Dave Niec I also met at UWM through a mutual friend named Stuart Howland. We all travelled together to Europe in 1987 with the Painting and Drawing program at UWM spending a semester abroad living in Assisi, Italy. We then travelled for another month before returning home. Greg is a printmaker and graphic artist, dare I use the word comics, but think the underground version and Krazy Kat. Greg uses an acerbic wit in his imagery. Dave has been painting and drawing the moon and the night sky for decades. He has gone from an almost methodological approach to an almost Romantic sensibility. My work will feature my stump prints on Japanese papers, some of my rephotography work featuring Milwaukee and some works from my artist book Crosscuts. Might fit a couple of watercolors in too if there is room. The closing reception is on gallery night July 21st and as it is third friday gallery night promises to be quite the party including live music!
